山林市城─遊歷舊園新景

From the necessities of life to different kinds of entertainment, the landscape, mythical creatures and flowers and plants (山水、走兽、花卉) are always the key element and theme, whether painting and drawings, poetry, sculptures, accessories and tablewares. We can easily see various scenes, views and daily life during the collections in Palace Museum. It is easy to imagine the surroundings and the behavior of people in ancient China, even the anniversary gift of Qianlong.

The artwork is inspired by the set of seals - 「元音壽牒」組印, those are one of the birthday gift of Qianlong, showing 120 pieces of different views and living creatures of ancient China, those are collected from different views of gardens. It creates an imagination of me to have a different variety of views in a garden. I would like to recreate a changeable moving garden from the perspective between nowadays and the Palace/ancient China, and try to disassemble the process of creating a garden, to enjoy the landscapes.

This is a set of installation who wants to create a generative system to simulate the landscape through the passive relationship between objects, the environment, and mythical animals, to create different dimensional compositions in a modern way, and displayed in a regeneration mode that focuses on space and feeling, and enjoy the landscapes.

中國古典園林中的私家園林既有山林泉水，又有書齋廳堂，在有限的空間內將舒適起居與遊賞景物密切地結合在一起，使之成為一個可居、可遊的立體山水畫卷。受私家園林以小見大的特點影响，以及「元音壽牒」組印在一方青田石上雕刻出花草亭橋、奇珍異獸的啟發，藝術家在較小的範圍內創造出無限景色。左側，是園外清江橙湖之景，山水曲岸悉呈眼前。居中，是面山臨湖的小房屋，透過門窗品右侧覽而不盡之緻。右方，園內庭院雖不宏敞，但玲瓏幽靜。立體交叉的構景藝術讓此園林佈局中有高低、虛實、靜動的對比，氣韻生動 ，得自然之趣。

*「元音壽牒」組印在第二展廳中展出，展期為2022年7月2日至2024年6月30日，2024年8月14日至2025年8月13日。
